So... I never do this, but I'm pimping this out.  You should all go over to [livejournal.com profile] bottom_draco  and check out the new prompt collection.  It's all based on fairy tales, and there are some really interesting ones posted so far.   Don't be afraid to add to it... even I did!  The link to the post is here.

Wow... I'm posting two entries in one week.  Crazy!

So, I wrote a new one shot last week, along with starting to type up my crazy arse long story that I've been working on since November 2007.  I started writing it by hand, but it's just under 100 pages (in my journal) and honestly... it is too damn hard to find anything in it when I need it because I've written so much.  It's nowhere near finished either!  I'm hoping once I get it all typed, I will have more energy to work on it because it won't be so hard to do, along with having more time this summer because I won't constantly be writing for school (though I DO need to keep working on my book!).

Other fun news... I might be going to China in the fall of 2010 to help teach English.  I actually REALLY want to go, but I am also undecided because Josh and I are going to start planning the wedding this coming fall  (and hope to be married by summer of 2010), and I am honestly not sure if I can leave him and the animals for 6 months.  It will be very hard, especially since we have lived together for almost 5 years now.  So I will just have to see, and I have a year before I have to make a final decision.

AND... today I made sheperd's pie!  It's in the oven right now, and I'm super excited to see how it will turn out!  It is the first time I've ever made it and it smells great because I'm starving.

That's all for now....

Hey, we've recently revamped my website with a new color scheme and layout.  You should go check it out!  WEBSITE HERE

For some people with smaller computer screens (as I used to have until about 3 days ago) a couple of the pics on the individual story pages might be a little off, or cut off.  We are slowly working on getting them fixed so that you can see them (they move/scroll with the story...)  Other than that, everything is great, though I will be reworking a couple of my older stories with corrections/additions, though it is taking a while b/c my school work is WAY too much.  I will also (eventually) be updating the rec list on the site, though that will be further down the road.  I will be adding at least 100 stories to my rec list here on LJ sometime hopefully in the near future (I've not had time to update, especially since I want to get author summaries and word counts for every one).

Anyways... that's all for now!

Okay... I read another really good story today.  It's called 'Stain of Silence' by Brummell, and you should all go read it!  It's about Draco who is forced to go live with Harry, as a paid servant of a sort, where he is pretty much cut off from the rest of the world.  There's a baby in the story too (it's NOT mpreg though).  The story was just so beautifully written, and the author did a great job on constructing the characters, especially Draco.  I even cried a couple of times!

The link is here, so you should go read it!

i am not gonna post any spoilers or anything, but i'm can finally talk about it now.

okay... i lied about the spoilers... well... they are only small ones.

so... for some reason today (maybe the fact that i'm seeing the 5th movie in a few hours, and the next book is coming out in a week and a half), i felt like working on my novel length story, Outside Our World.  i've actually had the next chapter finished for.... over a year... but i wasn't happy with it, so i never posted it.  there were quite a few things i wanted to change in the previous chapters, from how the boys reacted to certain things, and to make details a bit clearer.  so i just spent most of the afternoon going back through the first 6 (posted) chapters and revamping them, though a couple of them i only changed little things.  i don't have time tonight to do chapter 7 (the unposted one), cause i gotta go take a nap so i'm rested for the movie, plus i have a REALLY long day of work tomorrow.  i'm thinking that this will help me get back into the groove of writing a bit though, which would be nice.  now that i've changed some of the things from my other chapters, i think it will be easier to make the chapter 7 changes and then go from there.  hopefully this week i will be sending this stuff off to my betas for them to redo, and make sure i didn't screw anything up too badly.

so yeah... that's what i did today. i'm surprised i could concentrate, because i'm sooo friggen excited to see the movie!  it's pouring down rain here right now, lightning, thunder, and all, so i'm hoping that the line isn't soo incredibly long tonight when i get there that i have to wait outside.  that would blow.  we had to do that for PoTC3 and it wasn't fun.

okay... time for a nap.

So... some movies I've watched recently and I feel like telling you about them.  All the reviews below have slight spoilers.

Nancy Drew

ND review )

Knocked Up

Transformers

Apocalypto

OMG... only a few days until HP OoTP movie!  I'm sooo excited!  Of course, Josh will be out of town for training, so guess who I get to go with?  My sister... but oh... just not my sister.  3 of her friends too!  So basically it's like me... the 22 year old chaperone, with 4 high schoolers. Gah.  At least they are all Harry Potter fans, and most of them have read the books, which is more than I can say for Josh.  He doesn't ready ANYTHING.
so yeah..  i was bored a few weeks ago and i decided to make an AMV for Ai no Kusabi, and i just realized that i never put the link up.  it's the first one i've ever made.. well technically 2nd, but it's a remake of my first one (i was using the OLD SCHOOL Windows Movie Maker, and i got a new program from my sister so i redid it).  but yeah... i feel in the sharing mood today, so there ya go.

click on the link and it will take you to youtube to watch it!

up, up and away!

i won't object if you let me know what you think of it too. lol.

other than that... i REALLY have about a million phone calls i need to return and people i need to talk to, but i have really felt kinda off this last week cause of the meds for my finger, and it hasn't helped that it's been crazy busy cause josh started the new job this week, so he's out of town, and will be for most of the next month except weekends.  so it's kinda lonely around the house too.  i've been reading a lot of books, and once i finish my current one, i need to finish rereading the last 3rd of HP OoTP so i can make sure i'm up on the facts (for the nitpicking of the movie).  lol.  and Raven... i owe you a very long phone call soon, and i hope to god that we get a chance to chat b4 you go back home for the wedding and stuff.  and i still owe you a bday present, lol.  though i found something new i might be getting you, rather than my original idea... so we'll see :-)

okay.. so i was reading an article, and i came across this.  it's in reference to JKR talking about fanfic and how it doesn't bother her at all that people love her characters enough to write them in their own stories, but doesn't exactly condone 'hard R' type of stuff, and then it makes a comment about some of the websites that have slash fic.  the next paragraph said this...

In the fall of 2006, Jason Isaacs, who plays Lucius Malfoy in the Potter films, said that he has read fan fiction about his character; he said he gets "a huge kick out of the more far-out stuff."[34]

that just made me 'omg' sooo loudly, and now i'm laughing my ass off.  i hope to god what he read includes slash, cause that would just make my day!  makes me wonder how many other of the actors have REALLY read fanfic.

hehehehe

So yeah.. I'm always bored.  I was just going through my old LJ, which I check like MAYBE every 5 months or so, and I found a post that made me giggle with a wonderful link on it.  BIGGEST STUFFED BUNNY I'VE EVER FRIGGEN SEEN!!!

As for stuff in RL... I've been really busy.  I feel like on my days off, I don't really have any time to relax.  We have been practicing like crazy for the next bellydancing show that is coming up, plus trying to do a ton of stuff around the house, and work in everything else in between.  Accomplishments for the day:  holes dug for posts for fencing in yard, posts put into holes for fencing in the yard, gate put up, half (it's a HUGE tree that's split into two parts) of a tree cut down - which that half still takes up like a 3rd of our back yard when it was downed, and a couple of other things.  Though I didn't really help with any of that stuff.  MY accomplishments for the day: cleaned some more in the house, took test shots (pics and vids) in the woods across the street for some scenes in my sister's movie we are shooting, finished laundry, got some more designs for the tshirt designs figured out today for my sister's movie, practiced bellydancing, read a couple of HP stories that I've been meaning to for a while, and made sun tea (hahah... and that takes like... 30 seconds of effort).   So eventful overall, but not so much on my part I guess.  Well.. kinda eventful.  More like 'lazy getting stuff done' but that's okay.

Still lots to do this week yet though.. like finish the fence, finish staining/putting up moulding, go to my bookclub meeting (HAHA... I didn't even know my mum was in one, but I guess a bunch of the girls we bellydance with are in it too, so she convinced me to come, since I love reading and all - too bad I can't be like 'YAY GAY HP FANFIC!'), taking my sister to go try out a camera she wants to buy for her movie, a small half hour show for bellydancing on Friday (not the big one we are practicing for) and then off to my friend's bday party, and I think another thing or two to do this weekend, but I just can't remember what.  Plus work.  I HATE feeling so busy, but at the same time, I've felt really bored lately when I haven't had something to do.  I think it's just cause it's that time of the year when there is no winter stuff to do, but no summer stuff either.  It is technically hot enough here to go swimming (upper 80's), but all the pools are still too cold, and it's been raining a ton too.  Plus when it's too hot the heat kinda gets to me.  I HATE being hot cause I sweat when it's like 70 degrees out, yet the electric bills are too friggen high around here (there's a huge ordeal going on with the companies), so we can't pull out the window units yet.  I will just have to suffer, unfortunately.

About the only other interesting thing that has happened in the last couple of weeks was the fact that I met Josh's bro a couple days ago... and he's extremely HOT (I feel bad saying that.. cause it's my fiance's bro... and he's married too), and I topless bartended a couple weekends ago for a friend's bachelor party he threw for his buddy.

Oh yes... and saw Pirates 3.  I'm still undecided about the movie.  There were a ton of things I loved, but then some I didn't love so much too.  I think I will need to see it again before I make a final decision.  I mean... the action and special effects were great and all, but some of the other stuff that bothered me has kinda held my opinion at bay for the moment.

I'm done babbling now... I think.

( May. 29th, 2007 08:16 pm)
yeah... so i just got done flocking all of my story posts, at least until this whole thingy blows over.

i'm not gonna bother with regular posts, mostly because they are pointless and there is nothing bad in them.  i HATE to flock stuff, but i would rather do that than have anything else happen.

i wish there was a way that i could search for entries only *I* made in certain comms, so i could delete them.  i was able to do that for the more recent ones, but i don't remember exactly when i posted stuff way back when, and that makes me a bit nervous.  at least i don't post often to comms.

this sucks.  i HATE this sort of thing.  and here i was, just a couple of weeks ago, talking about how LJ is so great for fandom.  i want to throttle these people.

if anyone reads my LJ that wants to be able to get into the story related posts, just friend me and let me know on here.  that way i can friend you back.

the promise to [livejournal.com profile] rurounihime  about the little newspaper thing my sister made up in like a half hour last week cause she's good like that.  i'm a dork.. and was actually trying to read it and was like 'what is she having me look for?' and then i realized it had the county name in our movie on it!  i'm soo oblivious sometimes.  hahaha.

while i'm at it... i'm gonna post the HP video my sister made... because she did such an awesome job and it's like perfectly together with the music.  it was only her 2nd video she ever made too!  well.. 3rd... the first time she made it it disappeared from her computer, so she remade it.  lol.  but it only took her about an hour the first time... she's great at doing stuff like this!  hence why i keep telling her to go to school for something with movies.
have you ever noticed that half the time in the movies, Harry's eyes are blue?  i mean... it's such a big deal that his eyes are green in the book, i don't see why they don't do a better job of color editing in the movie, or green contacts all the time, or something.

http://movies.aol.com/movie/harry-potter-and-the-order-of-the-phoenix/24593/photos/harry-potter-and-the-order-of-the-phoenix-daniel-radcliffe-as-harry-potter-stars/1884074

i mean... do they not look blue?  and these are photoshoot pictures here for friggen sake!  at least if you don't do the stuff for the eyes in the movie, do it for the damn photos!

this has been bothering me for yearsssssssssss!
So... I had a rabid plot bunny attack me late last week, after a wonderful chat with a friend.  I just couldn't seem to get the idea out of my head, and at work on Saturday, I started writing.  Granted... I only got about 200 words down on paper cause it ended up being a busy day, but it was a start.  Then, on Monday, I decided I would start typing it up, just to see if I could write any more.  At some point around 3 in the morning (Tuesday morning that is), I had finally managed to type about 10,000 words.

So... now I'm just waiting for it to be sent back from my betas, and with a bit more tweaking, hopefully I shall have a story to post in a few days!  It's been FOREVER (no kidding) since I've posted anything I've written, and I'm rather happy with this one.

Yay!  I'm very excited.
Okay... so a friend had this quote up in her AIM profile... but NEITHER of us can remember where it is from. If you can point me in the right direction of the link (even story name and author would work), that would be awesome! It's driving me crazy!

The quote is this - “ Whatever I said that made you remove your hands. I take it back,” Draco said imperiously.

“ Okay, so what does that mean?”

“ Put your hands on my ass, Potter,” Draco said through gritted teeth.

Any help would be awesome! *throws candy hearts to you!*

So, I've decided that I'm going to try to start writing in this journal, because...... well I don't really know why, but I'm going to anyways. Originally I started this journal just for fanfic related stuff, but I never visit my other journal anymore, so what the hell.

I will say, today's been one of those 'kinda days from hell.' I finally got my class schedule worked out (yay!), but the stupid people at the school said that if I didn't pay for my classes by tomorrow then they would be automatically dropped. Funny thing is..... I DON'T PAY FOR MY DAMN CLASSES! The goverment does cause I get grants. So they are stupid, but then again... I didn't expect anything different cause they are all a bunch of idiots who don't know how to do anything right at that school.

Now that I'm done venting... on to the fun part. I'm way excited about some of my classes! I only have 1 required class left, which is going to be Earth Science (unfortunately), but it was either that or Chem or Physics, which I suck at both. So it really didn't leave much choice. But I'm taking Intro to Philosophy, which I've actually taken a bunch of classes that are higher than that, but it's just a filler course and will be a piece of cake. Plus my teacher is this cool Indian guy. The ones I'm really excited about are International Studies of Middle Eastern Cultures (which I know quite a few Middle Eastern people, not to mention the fact that I've been bellydancing for 5 or 6 years), and I'm taking this lovely Ceramics class, where I get to make as much pottery as I want for 15 bucks! I'm really excited about that one. All I have to pay for is the tools, and the clay is unlimited. I've never used a pottery wheel or anything before... so it's going to be an interesting experience. And I've not taken an art class in like... 10 years. And I hate getting my hands dirty. UGH, it's making me squick just thinking about the clay getting all crusty and dry on my hands. (ok, ok, I admit... I'm kinda OC about my hands... and I'm a constant lotion-izer.)

Anyways... I am still kinda looking forward to this semester. I just hope the money thing gets worked out sooner rather than later, especially considering the fact that my father is in China right now and won't be back until the 24th, and I need his tax info to fill out my FAFSA stuff.

On other notes... our new deck is finally finished!!! Now all we have to do is finish the last room upstairs (for those of you who don't know... we are COMPLETELY redoing a house we bought last summer). So now I can go lay out... if I manage to find the time.

OOO and I totally just met a girl last night that is a huge HP nut, just like me. So that's fun, cause there aren't very many (at least that I know of) that live around me. Her name is d_n_me94 on here... but I don't know how to put those cool little links that takes you directly to their pages...

One last fun note.... I TOTALLY helped dress my fiance in drag last week, and he makes a really hot woman! I may post pictures sometime soon.... but SHHH! He doesn't know about that.... :-)
