okay... I'm officially flipping out this morning. I've been stressing for a couple of days because I found out that on June 13 (Saturday), my friend wanted to throw her wedding shower. That would be great and all, except since all of her family lives out of state, my mum is the one throwing it. Of course... we SWEAR she had said the next weekend originally for it, so we were a bit confused. That's only 3 weeks away, and she has people coming in from out of state. On top of that, I realized that that is the same day as one of my best friend's baby showers, which I said I would go to a couple months ago, AND my aunt and uncle's 25th wedding anniversary party, which I must be at. All after I have to work that day. And we tried to get ahold of my friend, but no luck cause she was out of town, so we haven't talked to her in a few days to find out if that was the date for sure, and THEN we just got wedding shower invitations for that same FRIGGEN DAY!

Not to mention that we have a huge midsummer's eve party the night before that, and crap to do on Sunday. OMG. I'm not going to sleep for days!

So I totally made my recipe for the Fandom Cookbook yesterday... pictures and all.

Now I actually need to load them on the comp and pick which ones to use. I did like every step (and even a shot of all the ingredients beforehand), but I'm not sure they want THAT many pics to go with it. LOL.

So... I never do this, but I'm pimping this out. You should all go over to

Hey.... so I've decided that now it's summer, I want to make a bunch of meals that I can freeze for lunches and dinners (I plan on filling up our new deep freezer completely with them!) so that we can have healthy(ier) food to eat for work, AND not spend ten bucks every day on meals. The problem is... I can only think of so many things because many of the things I regularly make will not freeze well - like potatoes, so I'm going to try the instant ones instead, and even a few of the things on the list I'm going to have to test out to see how they do (quite a few of them I have done before because a couple years ago for xmas - while my dad was still a bachelor and didn't eat well - I made him a huge box full of frozen meals so he would eat better and more regularly). I plan on making everything homemade, rather than buying premade items. I'm also going to try to do it the store-bought frozen dinner way for a lot of things (like separating sauces and noodles until you nuke it so they don't get all mushy)

IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS, PLEASE POST THEM! I would really appreciate the help and I would like a wide variety of meals to choose from when I start making the meals.

And the stench of the outhouse was a cast

a kettle of potlikker. Their beds were cast

iron and so too the thighs wrapped round
his hips and the way he shook and withered

I also had the pleasure of seeing Harrington do a poetry reading, and she was rather interesting to watch (many of her poems use onomatopoeia, and she is very meticulous about her intonation. And she often sings).

Wow... I'm posting two entries in one week. Crazy!

So, I wrote a new one shot last week, along with starting to type up my crazy arse long story that I've been working on since November 2007. I started writing it by hand, but it's just under 100 pages (in my journal) and honestly... it is too damn hard to find anything in it when I need it because I've written so much. It's nowhere near finished either! I'm hoping once I get it all typed, I will have more energy to work on it because it won't be so hard to do, along with having more time this summer because I won't constantly be writing for school (though I DO need to keep working on my book!).

Other fun news... I might be going to China in the fall of 2010 to help teach English. I actually REALLY want to go, but I am also undecided because Josh and I are going to start planning the wedding this coming fall (and hope to be married by summer of 2010), and I am honestly not sure if I can leave him and the animals for 6 months. It will be very hard, especially since we have lived together for almost 5 years now. So I will just have to see, and I have a year before I have to make a final decision.

AND... today I made sheperd's pie! It's in the oven right now, and I'm super excited to see how it will turn out! It is the first time I've ever made it and it smells great because I'm starving.

okay.. i don't know if anyone on my flist can help me, but i SURE AS HELL hope so. i've been off of LJ b/c of school stuff all semester and even though i left myself a ton of notes, i did not remember until about a day and a half ago that Mistful/Maya was taking all of her fanfic down. i know she was pdf'ing everything and leaving it up for a month or so, but i passed it by and didn't realize it :-( now i can't even remember if it was up in september or october. but i feel like a TOTAL idiot, and if one of you downloaded her copies, i would be forever grateful if you could pass them along to me. if i have to go asking in a comm for someone that has them i will, but i would really prefer not to. she is one of my favorite authors, and as much as i'm looking forward to her published original work, i hate to lose those other stories because they are some of my favorites.

please let me know if you can help me. i can't believe i forgot something that i was this excited about having copies of...:-(

I feel like I should post something since

dragonfly_lily brought it to my attention... yes I've been gone a long time. Well.. not really gone, but just so insanely busy with school this semester I've not had a moment to breathe. I've actually done a bit of writing, but have not had a chance to type anything up, though I expect to have much more writing next semester (though of the real fiction kind... classes and projects) and I will prolly be posting quite a bit of it hopefully, just for the hell of it. But I will be back more often now, though it may still be quite sporadic (that's a good word!), and I really don't want to miss all of the holiday fic exchanges.

Other new things in my life... besides the enormous amount of school work (I have 42!!! books to read this semester) is that the doctor finally gave me the okay to go back to being "active." Though my cysts are still all over the place, they have shrank generally in amount and size and there is no longer such a large danger of rupturing them during any type of exercise (no more grapefruit-sized ones!). So yeah... after 8 months of not being able to dance, i was finally able to go back 2 months ago. Of course, that kinda sucked at the same time because I had to catch up on 8 months of new dances (some which I still haven't bothered to learn because there was just too much to do), all for the show this past weekend.

Other than that... nothing else has really been going on. Life is pretty boring, despite how busy I've been.

Hey, we've recently revamped my website with a new color scheme and layout. You should go check it out! WEBSITE HERE.

For some people with smaller computer screens (as I used to have until about 3 days ago) a couple of the pics on the individual story pages might be a little off, or cut off. We are slowly working on getting them fixed so that you can see them (they move/scroll with the story...) Other than that, everything is great, though I will be reworking a couple of my older stories with corrections/additions, though it is taking a while b/c my school work is WAY too much. I will also (eventually) be updating the rec list on the site, though that will be further down the road. I will be adding at least 100 stories to my rec list here on LJ sometime hopefully in the near future (I've not had time to update, especially since I want to get author summaries and word counts for every one).

Well... a quicky update. I have a couple of stories back from my betas, so as soon as I get a chance to go through them and fix stuff, they should be up soon. Sesheta, that means you will finally be seeing what I wrote for your bday fic!

I've hardly been on the computer lately (it's got some sort of problem and keeps autorestarting, and I just get too pissed off to deal with it). I need to just take it somewhere to get it looked at, but I don't have the money right now, I still gotta pay my school loan taxes for this past year so I can get my loan for this year. Gah.

Also Raven, sorry I haven't gotten your stuff back to you yet. I'm still halfway through it (which is where I was like 2 days after you got it to me!) I've just not had any time to spend on it because my stupid car is having problems again, and I've been pretty much spending all of my free time with my dad trying to get it fixed. Yesterday I finally just traded him cars so I can drive his and he can hopefully fix mine and I don't have to worry about being stranded all the time. It didn't help either that Josh got his wisdom teeth out this past week, so for a few days I was trying to help him out. Poor guy can still hardly eat! I have the next couple of days off except for a docs appt, so hopefully I should have it done and back to ya!

So my life seems boring as usual. Anything new going on with everyone else?

Okay... I read another really good story today. It's called 'Stain of Silence' by Brummell, and you should all go read it! It's about Draco who is forced to go live with Harry, as a paid servant of a sort, where he is pretty much cut off from the rest of the world. There's a baby in the story too (it's NOT mpreg though). The story was just so beautifully written, and the author did a great job on constructing the characters, especially Draco. I even cried a couple of times!
